Half a million and two quarter millions

A total of 9 top prizes for break-open and scratch-off tickets were won in the course of the year 2023

With the distribution of countless instant prizes, Austrian Lotteries' retail outlets brought a little or even a lot of joy to many lottery players over the past year. Nine times, winners had to be referred to Austrian Lotteries instead of receiving an instant payout at the retail outlet, but the result was well worth the wait: they had each won the grand prize, a six-figure sum. 

The nine top winners are spread across five of Austria’s federal states. The top winner was a player from Lower Austria who won half a million euros with a Mega break-open ticket. One player from Lower Austria, one from Carinthia and one from Styria won 100,000 euros each.

Two scratch-off ticket prizes totalling 250,000 euros were won in Lower Austria and Upper Austria. Prizes of 100,000 euros were won twice in Salzburg and once in Upper Austria.
