Lotto 6 aus 45
On 7 September 1986, the first draw of Lotto “6 aus 45“ (Lotto “6 out of 45“) in Austria was carried out. Thus started the success story of Austrian Lotteries.
Lotto “6 out of 45” is Austria’s favourite lottery game. The “6 out of 45” formula is customised to the gaming behaviour of Austrians and the population size of the country, which leads to a small number of top prizes, attractive mid-tier prizes, and many low-tier winnings. The lottery draws are held two to three times a week, on Wednesday, every second Friday and Sunday.
On 1 October 2017 the Lotto extra-draw was introduced: LottoPlus. Participating in the LottoPlus draw gives your Lotto bets a second chance. Thereby, you can double the excitement of playing and winning Lotto.
The absolute Lotto top winner was a player from Lower Austria. On 21 November 2018, he was the only one to hit the sevenfold jackpot and thus won 14,926,157.30 Euro prize money.
How do I play Lotto?
For each bet you wish to place, select 6 out of 45 lucky numbers on your betting slip. You can play up to 12 picks with each normal ticket. If you’re in a hurry, the Lotto Quick Pick is the way to go. The computer will select random numbers for you. You can play a lottery pick for as little as 1.50 euros.
How does the full Lotto system work?
You have a total of 48 system game options available to you.
There are two types of full systems: system play with elective numbers only, and system play with bank numbers and elective numbers.
In a system game with elective numbers only, you pick seven to twelve numbers instead of the classic six numbers. The computer then generates all the possible combinations of six numbers from all the selected numbers. All numbers are treated as equal and occur the same number of times in the variations. The smallest system (0/07) has 7 combinations and the largest (0/12) has 924.
In a system game with bank numbers and elective numbers, not all numbers are treated equal, as the bank numbers are not exchanged when generating betting combinations. Bank numbers are part of every pick. There are systems with one, two, three, four and five bank numbers.
What is a Lotto share ticket?

What is the super number (bonus number) in the Lotto?
The bonus number is the number that is drawn as the seventh number after the six numbers in the “6 out of 45” lottery draw. It is not part of the “six correct picks” and as such cannot be used to get to those six correct picks.
If you’ve picked three, four or five correct numbers, a correct bonus number results in a bigger prize. If only the bonus number is correct, you receive a fixed prize of 1.50 euros.
What is the Joker in Lotto?
