Austrian Lotteries has been living up to its social responsibility in Austria for decades and, in addition to sports, supports numerous social and cultural projects and initiatives.

This year, the Austrian Lotteries scratch-off ticket team donated a cheque for 10,000 euros to the Steinbacherhof’s equine-assisted therapy programme. The Steinbacherhof offers a wide range of therapy programmes, especially for children and young people – by the hour for horse-assisted therapy, for family weekends and for self-awareness days. Animals have a particularly keen sense of human needs, and children can experience a great deal of support in their relationship with animals. With or without a handicap, everyone will have a chance to interact with horses as well as experience new challenges and support regarding any changes they may go through. There are also suitable offers for schools, organisations, companies, and horse owners.

Austrian Lotteries presented the symbolic cheque in time for Christmas so as to support the continued care and maintenance of the Steinbacherhof in the coming year. Managing Director of Austrian Lotteries, Elisabeth Römer-Russwurm, presented the cheque to Doris Waldhäusl, the founder of the Steinbacherhof.
Elisabeth Römer-Russwurm, Managing Director of Austrian Lotteries, said: “Austrian Lotteries has been supporting humanitarian institutions and projects for decades. Some of our employees have already been supporting the Steinbacherhof as part of a corporate volunteering programme. I’m pleased all the more that we can also make a financial contribution today to a project that helps people when they need support.”

Corporate volunteering — commitment across the entire company

Thanks to the voluntary commitment of its employees, the Casinos Austria and Austrian Lotteries Group supports numerous social and environmental organisations in Austria. Every employee can use up to five working days per year available for this purpose as part of their paid working hours. Areas of activity include Caritas projects, “e-Motion Lichtblickhof” children’s hospice and collection campaigns organised by Die Tafel Österreich. Employees can also propose their own projects.
